So Hellevator by TrueLab is basically a horror slot set in this abandoned, blood-soaked hotel. You play as a detective investigating disappearances, and the whole thing is dripping with atmosphere -- severed limbs in luggage, demons clawing at elevator doors, the lot. Proper creepy. It runs on 5 reels, 4 rows, 20 paylines, with bets from 0.10 up to 30. High volatility, 96.19% RTP, and a max win of 6,666x. The 666 thing is a bit on the nose but honestly it fits perfectly.

The low-paying symbols are grim -- a heart in a bag, a head in a box, a leg in luggage, a hand in a suitcase. Five of a kind gets you 0.5x, so nothing exciting there. The high payers are characters: a double-headed girl, a slit-mouthed woman, a vampire lady, the detective, and the demonic hotel owner. Five matching highs pay between 2.5x and 20x your bet.

Wilds appear on reels 2, 4, and 5 and carry a 2x multiplier each, which is handy. Then there is the Hellevator symbol itself -- a special wild that only shows up on reel 3. That one is the main event, really.

When the Hellevator symbol lands on reel 3 it nudges to fill the whole reel, gaining +1 multiplier with each shift, then triggers Haunted Respins. During those respins, winning symbols stick, and low-pay symbols feed their multipliers into the Hellevator. It keeps going until wins dry up. Genuinely clever mechanic and where I got my best base game hits.

But if you trigger Hellevator Spins -- where the Hellevator sits permanently on reel 3 and stacks multipliers across all spins -- that is where the real money hides. I had a proper good time with Hellevator. The horror atmosphere is bang on -- no cheap cartoon nonsense, actual jump scares and eerie sound design. The Hellevator mechanic carrying multipliers through respins felt rewarding even on modest hits. My only gripe is the plain free spins mode feels like a waste unless it upgrades into Hellevator Spins. But when it does connect, you feel it. Definitely one to try if you fancy something darker this season.
